MiSP Trainee Mentoring
Reflective support as you develop your mindfulness teaching.
Description
Completing your MiSP LMS training is an important step towards sharing mindfulness with children and young people. Mentoring forms part of this pathway, offering an opportunity to pause, bring together what you have learned and explore how it can be applied within your own educational setting. Our session will be a supportive, collaborative conversation shaped around you. You are welcome to bring questions, areas of uncertainty and things that are already going well. We might explore your personal mindfulness practice, the intentions behind the curriculum, guiding practices, inquiry and discussion, adapting learning for different needs, classroom realities or your next steps. You may also guide a short practice and receive supportive, constructive feedback. You do not need to arrive with everything worked out. I am a primary school teacher with over 26 years’ experience in education and have been a mindfulness lead within my school for over 10 years. Trained with MiSP and with a background in mindfulness-based approaches including MBSR, I understand both the foundations of mindfulness teaching and the everyday realities of bringing it into a busy school environment. My approach is warm, grounded and down to earth. I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable reflecting honestly, asking questions and developing your teaching with greater understanding and confidence. This is a 30-minute individual online session. If you choose individual mentoring, you will need to complete two sessions as part of your MiSP LMS pathway. Please complete the relevant MiSP mentoring checklist and return it at least 48 hours before each session. Please do not include children’s names or identifiable pupil information. Whatever questions you are bringing, you are very welcome. I look forward to meeting you, hearing about your experience so far and supporting you as you take the next steps in your mindfulness teaching.
